Elizabeth (Betty)'s Story

I have lived in Las Vegas since 2006. After high school I moved to Portland, OR then to Reno, NV. Lived in Reno from 1975 to 2006. My first ex-husband taught me how to hunt, fish, sail, & even how to dredge for gold. We lived in a tent for 4 months on the North folk of the North folk of the Amercian River 2 hours four wheeling & 2 canyons back. I remarried in late 1986 & it ended in 2003. I taught ice skating in Reno for over 26 years. One of my hockey students (worked with him on power skating starting when he was 8 yrs old) missed the 1992 Olympic team on the last cut. Have been involved with Special Oylmpics since the early 1980's & been to 5 World Games. I ran the figure skating events for the 1989 World Special Olympics Games in Re...Expand for more
no. I enjoy meeting new people & my life has been very interesting. I always wanted to be a professional ice skater when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a teacher idea. As it turns out, they were right & so was I because I got the best of 2 worlds.. I enjoy reading, listening to music, learning new things. The one person from my past was Mrs. Troxel, my Fifth grade teacher, because she was very helpful & inspiring.. The other two are Brian Tuck & Joan Heasley, my first Ice Skating instructors in class lessons & then in private lessons. Brian taught me figures & free style while Joan taught me ice dancing. I now work in the airline industry. This has been very interesting at the different things I do. Never a dull day.
